THE CHEESESTEAK FACTORY
Kingsland, Ga. exit 2 off of I-95.
If your ever down in Southeast Georgia or Northeast Florida and need a great cheesesteak.
You have to stop in The Cheesesteak Factory.I'm not from Philly, but Bob serves the BEST
CHEESESTEAK. Like he always says it is the Amoroso roll that makes the steak. I worked for
Bob, before my husband and I had to move. And now we go back about once a month just for
the cheesesteak.Once you eat one you will want to keep coming back for more. They melt in
your mouth really.

DARLENE'S PHILADELPHIA WATER ICE & DELI
5220-C Austell Rd, Austell, GA 30168 PH. (770)-739-7199
The best cheesesteak I have found down south is at
Darlene's Philadelphia Water Ice & Deli in Austell GA.
It is just just outside the city (Atlanta) and well worth the
drive. They have excellent authentic philly
cheesesteaks plus water ice. If you are from the
philly area than you have to try them.

PHILLY PIE
Alpharetta, GA
As a fellow transplant to the south my search for the beloved sandwich has been endless.
Although my work has finally paid off. A couple of boys from Philly have opened up the
next best thing to the real thing. They search over 20 bakers to find "the right
roll" and found a butcher whose meat melts in your mouth. This sandwich is a real
contender, so if you are ever in Atlanta pay a visit to Philly Pie in Alpharetta and
enjoy!

WOODY'S
Piedmont and Virginia- Virginia Highlands, Atlanta, GA
We're from Philly and were visiting friends in Atlanta recently. We asked around for a
real Philly cheesesteak. People kept telling us to try this place in the Virginia
Highland's (corner of Piedmont and Virginia) called Woody's. Apparently, Atlantan's say
they have to have a Woody's once every two weeks (no matter how hot it is outside). We had
one, and I must say, it was pretty good. The rolls weren't quite authentic and they seem
to think you should have ketchup and mustard on a cheesesteak (must be a Pittsburgh thing
'cause the owner's from Pittsburgh), but the meat was very fresh and not too fatty, and
the grilled onions were just right. It was also a very substantial cheesesteak -- my
husband and I had to split it. Anyway, the place is really cool and certainly worth a
visit. Its been around for 23 years and has, from what we could tell, a sort of loyal,
cult following. We were glad we tried it. Next time you're in Atlanta, ask for directions
to Woody's. Its about 10 minutes from Buckhead.

THE TAVERN
Phipps Plaza Mall, Buckhead
There is a very good Philly Cheesesteak in Atlanta at the
Tavern Restaurant at Phipps Plaza Mall in Buckhead. Huge,
thin sliced meat, grilled onions, American cheese. The roll,
although not Philly style, doesn't hurt the experience. Although
pricey, $8.95, it does include steak fries and the best looking
waitresses and hostesses in town. Enjoy !!!

TIGER'S PHILLY GRILL EXPRESS
2100 Roswell Rd # 600a, Marietta, GA
PH: (678) 560-5022
I noticed this store in the Lakeside (or something like that, big shopping center on
Roswell) Shopping Center with a sign out front hawking water ice and cheese steaks.
The owner is a good guy from South Philly that makes the best steak I've had since I
got down here (and I've had a lot, none of them good besides this one.) Good meat,
rolls, and portions and prices. I'm a steak and cheese purist, but this guy does
really creative things, like a Southern deep fried steak, which I've had and is very
good, and a Hawiian steak, among others. Give him a shot if you're in this area.
