OHIOMR. SPOT125 E Court St, Bowling Green, OH PH-(419)-352-7768< I grew up in Northeast Philly - and lived for a time at 4th and Shunk and at 22nd and Mercy s- so I know a good cheesesteak. Mr. Spots in Bowling Green, Ohio (22 miles south of Toledo) ranks up there with the best ones outside of the City of Brotherly Love. Word has it that the owner is from Northeast Philly and came to Bowling Green to play college hockey and stayed. He saw a perfect business opportunity: What kind of food would you want after a night at the bars? Or on a study break! Can you say "Provalone With?" The rolls are genuine Amoroso's and the steaks a definitely on a par with what you would get back home. They make 'em fast and I don't see any mayonaise around. Who puts mayo on a cheesesteak, for the love of God and Donovan McNabb? Beyond that, his hoagies (God how I miss a good Italian hoagie!) are excellent and come with names like "The Bustleton" and "The Kensington." This guy has it right. The shop is located on East Court Street, just off of Main Street. It is right near the Wood County Courthouse in this college town.Submitted by vpiscopo@aol.com March 23, 2005
PENN STATIONMultiple locations
Penn Station, a sub shop founded in Ohio has flourished with the success of its well
known and well liked Philadelphia cheesesteak. With over 50 franchise shops, and still
growing strong, Penn Station is definitely the best west of Philly.
