NEWS FROM THE EDITOR

28-FEB-06: OK, after a long hiatus, I have added several new updates over the past few days. Finally received our first entry from Tennessee, and posted more updates from Maryland, Texas, Georgia, Washington, Michigan, Colorado, Nebraska, Virginia, New Jersey, and of course, Pennsylvania. I am planning some nice upgrades to the site and am considering deleting some of the places with ancient reviews, so if you see a place listed that hasn't been reviewed in a long time, please take the time to write an updated review if it is worthy of inclusion on this site. I have several more entries to post, but wanted to let everyone know that I am still doing my best to keeping the site updated (an ongoing uphill battle). Keep those entries coming in, and I will keep working on updates.

9-FEB-05: I took the time this week to catch up on updates that have piled up in the past month. With the Eagles appearance in the Super Bowl, we received a lot of traffic and several new entries. Thanks to those of you who sent in entries from Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan, Canada, and the Bahamas recently! Our goal is to have at least one cheesesteak shop listed in all 50 states by the end of this year. Right now, we need places from the following states to achieve our goal: Hawaii, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, Kansas, Iowa, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Vermont. Please help us out if you can find a good sandwich in any of these states. I received several inquiries from Eagles fans wanting cheesesteaks delivered to them for the Super Bowl. There is a Cheesesteaks Delivered link on the Quick Links section of the front page of this site that lists businesses who will overnight cheesesteaks and hoagies anywhere in the US. If you know of a shop that does this, please let me know and I will add it. Even though our Iggles fell a little short in the Super Bowl, they had a great year and we love 'em. See you all in Detroit next year for Super Bowl XL! Someone out there in the Motor City, let us know where we can get us a good cheesesteak out there!!!

4-JAN-05: I have added this page to keep viewers to the site updated on the progress (or lack thereof) on the site and the latest updates. 2004 was one of the busiest years in my life, and as a result, I have not been able to keep the site as current as I would like. I was married in February in South Jersey, followed by a wonderful honeymoon in Antigua. In April, I learned that I was going to become a father for the first time. In May, my wife was offered a position in Las Vegas, NV. The opportunity was too good to pass up so we decided to make the move west from Northern Virginia. We purchased a home in Las Vegas and moved there in July. I left my job in the liquor business and landed a sales job with a highly respected beer importer in September (Drink lots of Newcastle Brown Ale!) Our son was born on December 8, a bouncing baby boy. So now you all know why updates have been few and far between recently. Now that the personal stuff is out of the way, I can ask for everyone's patience while I continue to slowly but surely update the site. I have a huge folder of reviews sent in by viewers over the past several months, and will read each and every one. Some of the reviews that are brief may not be published... not because I am screening them, but because they simply do not tell viewers enough about the establishment. All reviews will be considered for publishing as long as they have enough basic information. If you send in a review, please include address and phone if possible, and at least a few sentences describing what makes their sandwich worthy of inclusion on this site. I feel bad when someone takes the time to tell me about their favorite place, but sends me limited information. For example "Joe's in Conshohocken rocks!" I receive several of these every week that just don't include any details on the place. As for the latest additions to the site, today I posted several new updates including our first post from Canada, Alaska, Nevada, Utah, Maryland, Oregon, and of course, Pennsylvania. Now that the holidays are over and the baby has arrived, look for many new updates to be added in the coming weeks. In the meantime, keep the reviews coming, and let us know if any shops on here have closed or moved. Also, if anyone sends me a review with a digital photo, I will post it immediately within 24 hours of receiving it. Now that the digital age is upon us, I want to add more pics to the site. You'll notice that my reviews of places in Vegas have photos, that is what I'm looking for... pics of the storefront, sandwich, or happy faces of people indulging. So get out those digital cameras and find those good sammiches! Thanks for everyone's patience and support. If anyone is interested in becoming an Associate Editor, please contact me. We don't make any money on this site, you'll notice that it is still grassroots in nature. We rely on our viewers to provide us with all of our info. I would love to have an Associate Editor from the Philly area to help me with the site, so if anyone is interested, let me know. Last, but certainly not least, a big THANK YOU to all our viewers who take the time to send in these reviews. You all make the site what it is today, I'm just here to spread the word. GO EAGLES!!! JR
